Every time I even talk to my mom about this baby possibly being a girl (clothes, names, blankets, anything) she ALWAYS shuts me down. She keeps saying shit like "you don't want a girl" or "you don't need to worry about a girl name" or "you're not gonna need to worry about it"

I'm getting real sick of hearing it. Seriously. I feel like this baby is a girl and she's making it seem like she'll love the baby less if it's a girl. And whenever I call her on it she just says "you know I'll love her just the same"

WELL THEN FUCKING ACT LIKE IT!!!!!!

End vent :/

What's her beef with it being a girl?

Mine was the opposite. I KNEW I was having a boy and she'd always have a fit about how he was a girl. She even was correcting the doctor when he'd say "the baby" she's get all pissy going "HER! IT'S A GIRL!"

I feel your pain. When we told her he was indeed a boy she smacked the table and said "DAMN IT!" ON VIDEO that we were recording for a keepsake

I seriously have no idea besides as much as she claims it's not true she prefers boys over girls. I have a brother who can do no wrong as living proof. But if this baby is a girl and she starts playing favorites (my husband and I currently have a son) I'm gonna put my foot up her ass.

That's weird. My mom had two girls and my MIL had five sons. So neither one of them could compare... We have one of each. The grandparents don't really favor either of them.

Nice....

I KNEW my son was a boy. Like no question in my mind. And that's how I feel about this baby as well. I'm SO sure it's a girl that if they say it's a boy I'll probably fall off the ultrasound table. Lol.

LOL I was with both of mine too. And I was right. Will you be disappointed, or just shocked?

Shocked for sure. I will be ecstatic with either honestly. I don't care one way or the other. I'll definitely be shocked though. Lol.

Yeah I don't blame you if my mum did that I would be pissed and go ape on her because it isn't fair she treat one differently because they are a girl

Yep. Hubby and I have already discussed it because he sees how differently my sister and I are treated compared to my brother. So I'm totally expecting it to be passed right on down to the grandchildren (I hope I'm wrong though)

I hope you are wrong too because your child doesn't need to go through something like that. Good luck and stay strong!!

My mom was positive my first was a boy and a weeee bit smug when she turned out to be correct. Now for this baby she thought it would be a boy too, but she was WRONG. I guess at some point in my childhood she had had a dream about me having 2 little boys and just always assumed that it was a premonition. It WASN'T. She was thrilled to hear it was a girl though, shocked, but thrilled. Maybe your mom's problem is she just wants to be right, we run into that on occasion. Frankly, I was shocked when the ultrasound guy said girl too, I didn't think my husband had any female chromosomes in him, but he proved me wrong, LOL! :)
