While so people are certainly critical of those that have money, from a scan of some of the posts on that thread, the negativity was about the inappropriateness of a luxury car for a 16 yr old. It IS inappropriate as a gift from parents or anyone else.
We are "rich" and know lots of others who are rich. Most do NOT give their kids luxury cars.
My husband helped his neice buy a Honda civic AFTER he paid for college. He is awesome but he would NEVER buy her a luxury car. As a parent, I will forbid a luxury car for my daughter unless she pays for it.
We have a high-end BMW and a Honda. The cost of upkeep is very high for the BMW. The cost of the Honda is low and allows money to be spent on much more important things in life.

Keep in mind that I'm older than dirt.
Both my husband and I have made 6 figures for many years. I'm not comfortable listing what we have, but we are more than comfortable and have enough in savings, investments and assets to not work and be more than comfortable.
When we die, our daughter will be rich whether we die young or old.

I know how old you are, not exactly, but I have a rough idea and I am actually close to your age. Both my parents made 6 figures for a long time, they have lots of money in investments, they own 3 homes, 2 cars, a boat, and I still don't consider them "rich" by any means.

Lol 6 figures is rich in my view! SO and I only make like 52,000 a year together and we're very comfortable. We wouldn't know what to do with 6 figures a year!

I still don't know why you always have to make a point of saying how much money you have, no one cares

Apparently you care as you asked. I didn't say how much money I had.
And, the thread was about money. In D & D it is normal and expected to give opinion and perspective.

Haha you're probably right. Before I moved in with SO I was living off of like 12,000 a year. I thought I was moving up good when I moved in with him. He makes like 40,000 a year. Lol I couldn't imagine how we would spend 52,000 a year, but we did lol. We have 3 vehicles, in fact he bought a brand new truck today, 2 houses, and were going to buy a tractor soon. Lol we found ways to spend it.
You're probably right lol.

probably wont even read this comment but yeah...

if you don't want to be "attacked" on the forum then think twice before you post something. just how you took it as them calling you a gold digger because of what you posted. people see things differently. rather than getting all bent out of shape ignore what some of them say or take it as constructive criticism. no need for a backlash post. shit..if you can't sleep at night because you have a problem with what someone said on here, then pm them. for all you know you interpreted it wrong. i've done the same thing and read what someone said in the wrong way and cleared the air before flipping a shit.
