Quoting Dovahkiin:" Most likely they were all in on it, along with a slew of people we don't know about. A sleeper cell is more and more obvious. "

I need to just stop reading about it b/c it makes me so angry and full of hate & that is not who I am.

There are other things he could have said. Like "concern"

Quoting Kayla [:)]♥:" Conspiracy would have been a fine word to say. People don't seem to realise that conspiracy means "organized ... [snip!] ... avoid it... Because, well, they're are nuts who like to analyze everything. Example, the video that was posted about bush."

True, I did think that too but I didnt know how to word it.

But the video was so edited, we're preconditioned to think he was going to say conspiracy and have it mean a conspiracy our govt would conduct.

They arrested someone else in the ricin letters case. That's a weird ass story. Elvis impersonators, a blues band, black market body parts, and child molestation.

That sounds like the next Hangover saga plot.

So, your mother's family, who has been here since the 1600s as well as other family members moved to Saudi Arabia?

Yes lol.

Eta: actually, no. I reread what you wrote. Not my entire family, just some of them.

:)
Well, you may fit in my theory or you may not.
From living in Manhattan for a long time and from being older than dirt, I have had a great deal of contact with people from oppressive countries or countries that were recently very oppressive.
For example, the FBI came to my building looking for "me" as part of their search for someone with the same last name as me, my Slavic building manager denied that I lived there and sent them away! Lol
Personally, I believe that power corrupts and that there is corruption everywhere in our country and that there is lots of dishonesty. However, I do t believe that our government officials are routinely covering up for terrorists or "wannabe" terrorists.

Well considering I'm not from another country, I don't think I fit the theory you've described.

But honestly, you think this is the first time a cover up has happened?

I believe I said it takes a few generations to fade.

I think cover-ups are fairly common but not for terrorists.

A few? Lol well considering both sides of my family have been here since the 1600s, it's been more than a few.
I think you're assuming I'm saudi. or even arab for that matter.

I, also, have an aunt and uncle who just returned from Saudi Arabia, after living there for 13 years. The stories I've heard are nothing short of horrific.

I find that interesting. Not as in I don't believe you, just interesting that makes me scratch my head LOL. DH was considering applying for a transfer to Saudi Arabia last year and after speaking with several people and googling, I couldn't find anything negative about it. From people who have actually lived there, mostly doing the type of work DH does, they all loved it over there and said that they really treat them well. The only advice I got was to be careful of particular hotels. Which, he would have been living in a secured man camp, not a hotel anyway so I didn't really pay mind to that advice.
