Sometimes our hamburger will turn a big brownish in the freezer usually it smells and tatses fine after we cook it. this time i used one i thawed it out and it smelled rotten. not knowing if it was just my prego nose i cooked it up and seasoned it and still didnt smell the same. i tried a small piece and it didnt taste that great had hubby taste it and he was like... no i think its bad...
there are two more packeges in our freezer that the middle is like brown almost a YELLOW tint to it! but there are 3 or 4 that are still nice and pink :)
is this hamburger bad? (obviously the stuff that smells bad is bad) but the stuff browning in my freezer? why is it going bad if its been in the freezer!? I think we got the "rolls" of meat before maybe that one roll was just...bad?
I'd say so. Are they bad ones closer to the front of the freezer? I try to keep all the meat against the back wall of the freezer.
I've never seen meat turn a yellow color. I would throw it out.
It could be though that it was already bad, that would be hard to tell with the rolls though.

When really in doubt, throw out! No one wants to be on the pot for the next few days because of questionable meat! Yah it sucks but better to be safe then butt sorry later lol
i ended up thawing the other 2 packets that were colored. and smelling them. they smelled bad. just like the first so threw away those 3 lbs :( but not eating it! lol
the stuff in the back.. was still pink and smelled fine. we used that. thank you we will keep our meet to the back now and i have a feeling that roll might have been bad to begin with.
