For the past week, on and off, DD has been asking for a baby brother or a baby brother or sister. She is 2 1/2. The first time she said it, I was shocked. I told her, "Uh, let me talk to your daddy about that one." Have your kids ever said something like that?

When I talked to DH, he said he would be happy to start trying anytime I was ready. When I mentioned what DD said to an older friend of mine, she said when children start asking, it's time to start considering trying. I feel like everyone wants me to be pregnant! Lol.

When my DS was about 2 days old, my daughter told me she wanted there to be another baby in my belly, and now that he is 14 months, she tells both of us a lot that she "wants another baby." It isn't happening.

If you want another baby someday, and your husband is ok with one now! I'd go for it :). She will be so excited.

my 9 almost 10 year old niece asks her mom to get pregnant all the time bc she wants a little brother to play with.....she has an older sister and a younger and AND a little brother. None of whom she plays with. And her mom can no longer have children, but has considered adoption bc that's what her daughter wants.

.....are you kidding me.....

In your case tho if you just have the one and you want another child go for it!

Agreed!

DS is 3 1/2 months, DD is 2 1/2. I asked her if she wanted another baby(just to hear her answer). She said no way. lol

I want us to be a little more financially stable before trying. Double daycare would kill us, and I really don't want to have to rely on state assistance for it. Maybe in a year. DD will be a lot closer to starting school. :D

My son asks me for a brother every single day:( I don't know what else to tell him. My husband doesn't want anymore. So I'll probably never have another unless we divorce. I feel so bad for him. He's 4 1/2 by the way.

Wow. I think your niece needs friends, not another sibling she won't play with. :(

Do you think a puppy might help?

Lol. I wonder if DD would change her mind if I baby sat an infant for a day.

My son constantly asks me to "buy" him a baby sister. A lot of people on both sides of the family have been pregnant and he's seen the excitement of new siblings and really wants one. He brought it up again tonight and I asked him what her name would be if he had one and he said "Alfred" lol

:( There are perks to being an only child. Maybe talk about some of those? Or get a pet?

Lol. That's cute. Maybe I'll get DD a boy baby doll that can be a pretend baby brother. She already has a few girl dolls, and is always mommying them.

My son has stuffed animal monkeys and he LOVES when we pretend to take care of them. He gets really excited and is super careful with them like they are newborns and will ask me to help him, it's cute. Your DD would probably like it too!

Probably. I've heard her tell her baby/babies to go in timeout because they were acting bad. Lol. She is very assertive.

I know! and when her mom was hinting that she'd consider adoption to make her daughter happy I was like, buy her a puppy not a child.
