Alternative to "tube tying" Mamakye_ Due October 19; 1 child; Australia 919 posts

Today on a random fb post someone mentioned that instead of the permanent tube tying or hysterectomy, there was a new (?) procedure were something was inserted into the Fallopian tubes to prevent egg release.
No more details were given.
I am interested by this as I want to prevent other children and it seems less invasive, but google searches yielded no results.

Can anyone give me the name of this procedure or any more information so I can research this

Paraguard, or another IUD system?

It sounds the same to me.

Probably the Essure procedure. Its coils they put in to scar up your tubes.

I know what you're talking about but can't think of it. It's totally permanent, no chance of being reversed. Whatever they insert in the fallopian tubes causes scar tissue all around it (that's how it's supposed to work). It's maybe like essure or ensure....?

Mmm I don't think so, it was a question about permanent prevention
But thanks, I don't know much about bc apart from the pill and googling those terms gave me some more info (I don't think those methods would be good for me! :/)
