A few of my recent cakes

This one was a total pain in the ass to make, afterwards I decided I will be charging more for "character" cakes because they require so much time to get them to look decently similar to the actual character. I actually prefer to not do characters at all but it is what it is.

This one was for my youngest's b-day, it weighed in at 21.6lbs!

I like them, especially the last one. The first two seem a little squished or like the design maybe was too big for the cake but it may just seem like that to me or the camera angle. I think you are very talented. I agree you should charge more for characters.

Only the bottom one was for my child, the top two were purchased from me, but that's how I started out making cakes for my kids and my friends' kids and my relatives. :)

Fondant is frustrating for me too, I make a marshmallow fondant and it's a pain to make and color. Recently I tried to save time (and my hands from being tired and sore) by making it in my kitchen aid mixer with a dough hook and I broke my machine LOL!

Your cakes look really good, everyone has to start from somewhere I'll show you some of my first cakes

1st cake ever:

The last one was my youngest's birthday last year, I've been making cakes for only about 1.5yrs and with each one I've gotten better as I've tried different things and learned better methods.

Thank you! The Thomas was my least favorite and seriously cried over it because I didn't think it resembled him closely enough. LOL!

ISN'T THOMAS A BITCH!? hahah

I hated Thomas after finishing mine. I hope hope hope nobody orders that cake again for a little while at least haha

I usually do like characters though. doing figures is one of my strong points I guess
