There may be some obvious reason I'm overlooking, but why in the world would a stillborn baby be wearing a diaper? Stillborn means the baby was born dead and therefore wouldn't need a diaper right?

Yeah. I worked at a nursing home for two years. We had to clean up the dead bodies after they messed themselves until they stopped.



At the nursing home I was at, though, we didn't put diapers on them if they were dead. We used lots of linen savers, both disposable and cloth.

I'm also assuming the parents may want to hold their babies, and may just want "something" on them. I'm not sure if that is standard though

with a stillborn they usually still clamb the cord. put a diaper on it, wash it up, and let the parents hold it for a few hours. not uncommon at all.
