Okay, I understand now. It can be really scary, especially as a First time mommy, but I don't think you have anything to worry about here.

honestly not all first time moms overreact or don't know that babies get sick too.
second off she said she would have just taken him to the pedi but insurance is messed up so she took him to the er.

Why don't you understand she wasn't taking him to the er because she was completely freaked?

Also it could have been a big deal...you don't know,so don't judge...and if he's 11 weeks and not taking a bottle that is slightly a big deal esp since that's all they eat,err drink rather, at that time in their lives.

I'm sorry for being a total b***h. I'm a defensive raging b***h when it comes down to things. I was just trying to take the on call nurses advice. I didn't know what else I could do to get him to eat, and I didn't want him to dehydrate. It's happened before.

I tried to just CALL the ER, but they said they couldn't give me advice over the phone, that I had to come in...

Again, I'm sorry if I seem like a neurotic b***h, but I didn't have many other options, and I had to make sure my little boy was okay.

Last think I wanted to do was expose him to more germs.

I think it's safe to say I'll stop using this forum again.
Thanks though girls.

She didn't say in OP that he wasn't taking a bottle. That would have completely changed my answer.

And, where did I say ALL first time moms are paranoid? I said I was.

It's perfectly okay. Just a misunderstanding.

Quoting Lexi Rae Tea:" I wasn't looking to get bashed for taking him to the ER dude. Seriously? He can't go to the pediatrician ... [snip!] ... Couldn't find any pictures online to base his color off of. He's a but pasty but guess that's just the cold. Thanks ladies."

No one wash bashing you, you asked if you were overreacting and you were. It is only a snotty nose and you exposed him to all the other germs that are in an ER. No need to make it seem like other parents don't give a f**k about their kids. You're a first time mom and bound to freak about new things. Next time you could try calling his Pedi and see if they have an on-call nurse, i know a lot of them do and they can help you with what to do.

Really? I saw the older boy in her profile pic but couldn't be sure if he was hers.

After looking at her previous posts, she has a few in which she's kinda seeming to freak out over normal baby issues. Not sayin she's wrong, but IMO she was overreacting and that's what the OP asked.

She said somewhere that he was adopted, but she lived with him. So in a way she is a first time mom, may not be her first kid but i'm sure you get what i mean.

True. I guess it has less to do with whether it's your first child and more to do with that individual child's needs and healthcare circumstances, etc...

And that would make her not a first time mom. But, it might be her first time caring for a young infant. I don't know any of that for sure.
