How would CPS find out? Her daughter doesn't even go to daycare.

Okay well tell her something that she will understand: You have pictures of abuse to your child that SHE caused so she can talk all the shit she wants. If she hits your child again, you are going to the police so either A. she needs to make sure she can control herself or B. Help you out to pay another sitter. or C. go to jail. Her choice.

It's a tough conversation but one that needs to be done.

because she just said that crazy grandma wants to get her taken away... crazy grandma calls cps and says she was beaten at home, when in fact it was the grandma all along.

It's not the grandmothers responsibility to help pay for daycare.

Not hers but the father's. If the father can't make sure his daughter is in safe hands, he can at least help OP out with childcare costs.

OP, does he pay child support?

What if u call granny and ask her about it. .. then she knows you know and to cover her own ass and try to get her taken from you she calls cps and says you did it. Don't bother calling that bitch. Call cps and the police.

Look, I agree that it is abusive, but I think some of you are overreacting. It can be handled without causing an uproar and potentially tearing the family apart for good. OP should communicate her concerns with Nana and her "discipline" in a calm, adult conversation. If Nana disregards her, OP needs to find an alternate childcare provider. Personally, I don't think the police need to be involved. She disciplined Ainsley in a way that was probably very common when she was growing up; in her mind, she might not have thought twice about it. She didn't hold her hand over an open flame and beat her in the head. Come on. "Whoopins" used to be common, and still are in some cultures.

This is true. Sounds like kind of a dead beat, pawning his kid off on old Nana.

I dunno, I think hitting a kid with a rod is pretty goddamn serious. Even if her old redneck ass grew up like that, it's not right and likely illegal.

You would have to swing a rod hard to leave bruises.

I think it's a little disturbing you wouldn't do anything.
