Yeast Infections Atticus & Rhys's Mommy 2 kids; Westfield, Massachusetts 7414 posts

Ever since I was pregnant with my youngest whos 15 months, I have been battling an issue with reoccuring yeast infections. Ive never had this issue before. It can come as often as once a month, before or after my period...if im lucky ive gone 3 months with no issue. I take 2 probotics a day, and have recently started taking garlic pills day. Now besides the issue, that maybe my husband keeps giving it back to me...

Has anyone dealt with this? Has the Yeast free diet worked for you?! Have you tried a yeast cleanse like from the vitamin store? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you been to the doctor to confirm it's a yeast infection?

Not recently no....they did test me for Stds and nothing. I dont know, maybe the home treatment route isnt the right route.

I've had the same problem but it's bacterial vaginosis instead of yeast infections. I just try to do natural remedies that I've researched like plain yogurt and hydrogen peroxide stuff like that.

I'd probably go back and have them check for a bacterial infection. Maybe that's why the home remedies aren't working?

You may call it something different there. You get it from the chemist, kept behind the counter. You insert the cream into your vagina once daily (at night after you shower right before bed).

I have had a recurring one for ages. My obstetrician said because I'm pregnant it's harder to get rid of and to use the 6 day (the stronger one). The infection was right up there and I had given it so my SO as well but he used the cream and it cleared up. They also have a caneston tablet but I've never used it.

Oh yeah ive done those treatments, over the counter you mean? Yeah clears it up and back a month later it seems. My husband has never been treated for it, yet maybe he is just passing it back to me each time since we dont use condoms

You both need to do the treatment together. Fresh towel each night. Then u can't give it back to each other.

If you take antibiotics it usually gives me an infection. My daughter used my towel n has it now too..

Thanks went to the doctors today, im on meds for a week and then another round of diflucan. I also have an appt set up in the morning for blood work for diabetetes, since I was pretty much pre diabetic with my youngest and have battled this issue since I was pregnant, with the yeast infections. I'm also trying rephresh, which the OB recommended said she heard good things about it as well. Actually she said unless he shows any signs or symptoms that my husband doesnt need to be treated. *shrugs* I will ask my primary and see what he says though. I am also going to look into the yeast free diet and try that and cut all the crap out of my diet, including soda, beer and anything else that I suppose isnt healthy for me and see if that helps any. Wish me luck, this is totally something that ive just kind of given up with at the moment. I know this sounds bad, but I kind of atleast hope I end up being diagnosed with diabetes then atleast I would know what is causing it vs having anything and everything seem to cause it at this point!!

Thanks guys!
