Yolo
Swag
bullying to the point of suicide
glamourized teen pregnancy

Does every generation think the next generation is fucked? Cause I know i did some messed up shit in the 80's and 90's, but this "Millenium" generation of kids actually has me scared about the future.

They don't seem to care bout anything. They do stupid shit (ie cnnamon challenge, condom challenge), everything is handed to them

And yes, I know I am generalizing and that there are some awesome kids out there. I know a few of them. But it's the idiots who are going to bring it all down

What do you guys think?
Is the next generation more fucked up than "our" generation?

Things are definitely more extreme now then they use to.

What exactly are the cinnamon and condom challenges?

I dont even know what "yolo" and "swag" are but bullying and teen pregnancy have been around forever. Thats not a new "next generation" thing. I am def. worried about the way our youth is turning out, for the most part they seem like idiots.

Cinnmon challenge is eating a spoonfull of cinnamon and seeing what happens (not pretty)

COndom challenge is putting a condom in your nose and trying to snort it out through your mouth

Bullying has always been around, but the suicide rate is what makes it terrible

And teen pregnancy has always been around, but it used to be shameful, not a point of pride. Not something "cool to do"

No, I don't. Kids will ALWAYS do mean and stupid shit. They did it in the 1900's and will do so in the year 3000[if the world doesn't end before then lol].

I honestly want to keep my kids with me all the time, homeschool seems more and more appealing. My SO is a middle school teacher, a kid disrupted lunch the other day and did the whole "condom challenge" bs while standing on a table, this is after a few weeks ago two 8th graders jumped the janitor and put him in the hospital.. It's a miracle if he makes it through a day without having to restrain a kid or drag them to the office. He actually works security at a friend's night club on Saturday nights if they're real busy, he says crazier stuff happens at the school than what goes on with drunk people on Saturday nights.. I can't wait until he's done with school and can change fields, I hate seeing how helpless he feels when he comes home from work he always says "some of them are so bright, but the whole environment is so delinquent"..

I think some of it is that it's more publicized. As in, when someone does something dumb, EVERY knows. Also, kids used to bully like crazy. I'm really not sure it's worse now, of it we A) hear about it more and B) perhaps kids are more sensitive to it now.

I really don't know they're more fucked up. Our parents said the same thing about our generation. I really think the internet and the fact that EVERYTHING is out there now, with FB and all, that things are being SEEN.

The case where the football team raped that girl. The fact is that that sort of shit happened a ton before, it just wasn't in the open. Kids jumped off stupid stuff, and beat each other up, and all sorts of things. We just didn't advertise it on the internet or the news as much. Girls got pregnant, but they usually kept it quiet. I really don't think this generation is any worse.

I'm more worried about the drug abuse then the other things.
