My 2 day old daughter will sometimes get into a "pattern" of trying to swallow, but sounding like whatever she's trying to swallow is stuck in her throat. So she just gulps and gulps and can't catch a breath! I shift her position and she stops. Anyone else's baby do that? This is my fourth but I don't remember the others doing this. Of course it has been 11 years since the last one... :)

I don't think mine done that either, maybe mention this to your babys health care provider or ring one of them 24 hour medical help mines?
I mean it's been seven years since my last baby:)

Babies have weird breathing/ swallowing habits when they are just born. If you are concerned I would ask but she is probably just learning how to get it right lol. My kids always choked as new borns on milk

Mine would only do that during morning feeds after he cut out the midnight feeds. He would try and skull it and be gulping.

Other than that time it didn't happen.

He would settle down when I shifted him and had him take breaks.

But I'm sure your 2 day old hasn't cut night feeds yet :)

My boy is 6 months old and has done this on and off pretty much since he was born. He's a bit of a pig and I tihnk he's just so greedy sometimes that he can't get it fast enough and can't quite deal with it. I wouldn't be concerned so long as it's only for a few seconds.

My 2 month old does this, its not during a feed either I'm fairly certain its saliva.. hahah but I don't really know why she does it ? :/

I think it's saliva too, and an immature nervous system. She doesn't do it near as much now!
