No you're not!

I've been a SAHM for just about 8 years, and I can promise you, if you do not take a bit of "You time", you will go nuts.

Don't feel guilty!

It drives me nuts somethings. But the way I look at it, I wouldn't really get any MORE done if I WASN'T a SAHM, because then I'd be working and not home as much.
I have to take a breather sometimes. I'm a smoker so I just sneak out for a cigarette and call someone to talk to someone other than my kids
It's not for everyone! I can't wait to start working/go back to school once DD is school-aged.

It is totally okay to breathe for a minute. Although I do feel bad sometimes when I walk away  Like, DS is 2 and he throws these crazy fits for no reason, I'll try and calm him, distract him, ect. ect. and sometimes I just need to walk into the kitchen and just take a deep breath and then go back in (usually he stops his fit as soon as I walk away -.-)

And, as for not going stir crazy, I have picked up hobbies, like baking breads, it's really fun to try out new recipes, lol. Also, I'll take DS on walks every day so that we both get fresh air.

You just have to find a balance, You still have to be an individual outside of your mommy/wife self, otherwise you burn out, or are just miserable

I get out alot, SO watches DD after work 1-2 times a week so I can have dinner with my girlfriends and I have friends come over during the day or DD and I go out and spend time with friends/play dates. It took me a year or so to become really comfortable and happy with being a sahm.

As long as she is fed, cleaned, and somewhere she cant hurt herself it is ok to take a minute for yourself. step outside to your porch leave the door open so you can hear her and get some fresh air. Once a week when your so gets hone go do something-gym, walk around the neighborhood, go shopping- anything to get out by yourself. If you want to go out with SO ask someone in either of yout families to watch her for you guys.

Maybe try to make Mommy friends? Or playdates?

Nothing wrong with a breather, but when they get older they will follow you around so there is no escape!

I just don't want to seem like a shit mom. I wanna be super mom. :? Even though I Know it's not possible."</blockquote>

You'll be more amazing if you get some time away from your DD so you can appreciate the time with her more. It's so normal, the idea that you could hang out with an infant all day and no one else and be totally satisfied is nuts to me. I'm lucky in that a lot of my best friends have babies, too, and we're all in our early 20's, too. We'll have play dates and then after the LO's fall asleep we have adult time. Also, the weather is getting better, do you have any playgrounds near your house?

I've never gotten that overwhelmed

But DH helps a lot when he gets home. I don't know, I just love being a SAHM. I hope I feel the same way with #2!

i miss living with my mil just because it was easier to go out for date nights or just if i needed to catch my breath and take a long hot shower.
