My LO is 3 weeks old. His poop changed from yellow/seedy yesterday to dark and runny and then he's continued to have diarrhea diapers through today. He's been a lot fussier than normal, spitting up a lot. We changed him from the regular blue Similac to the orange can for "sensitive" tummies for a couple days last week due to increased fussiness, gas and spit-up and it didn't really help. Should I switch to Soy Similac? Idk what to do!

After multiple changes with my oldest, and a new problem with each, he FINALLY did perfectly with gerber good start. Doc even tried saying he was lactose intolerant ... Nope, the similac and enfamil, all of em i tried, were just too harsh on his tummy!
Good start was my savior!

Soy is terrible for you. It's filled with estrogen and other hormones.

One of my daughters was on soy formula bc she is actually lactose intolerant. That's not something that just runs in the family though, is it? Lol maybe I'll switch to gerber, I've never used that brand before

Honestly i just dont know about heredity and intolerance, my mom is so i thought ok maybe he is, but his was just a sensitive tummy. Good start has really good comparison ingredients, 100% whey protein no soy (they do have a soy tho) and no cows milk. Check out some of the comparison charts! Hope something new helps soon!

I tried everything with DD similac, similac sensitive, enfamil, different kinds of good start, in the end the only thing her tummy agreed with was parent's choice sensitive... Go figure lol.

I'd try another formula if I were you.
Similac Sensitivity did a number on my DS's stomach, but the generic Sensitivity formula he has had no issues with. I've heard other moms say the same thing.
Also, it may be unrelated, but have you noticed how foamy it is? I don't think that can feel good in little tummies.

I had this same problem!! I switched after multiple times to Walmart brand parents choice in the orange can its sensitivity. It says its a low lactose formula. Within a day he was back to normal.

I use the Gerber good start soothe It's great. My son is almost 6 months no tummy issues since He's been on it and very rarely spits up.
