when did you start potty training?

my MIL is giving me crap that my 16 month old can't use the potty yet

i'm trying to explain to her that it's too soon for him to be able to use the actual toilet already.

didnt start til he turned 2.. and even then i didnt push him. he took onto pooping on it right away but was a typical boy and just couldnt control his pee very good. he wasnt fully pt'ed til 3

my 2 year old is still not ready. my older son potty trained right around 3 years old with no problems. my 2 year old knows how to sit on the potty but he WILL NOT tell me when he has to go. and he wont hold it til he sits either because if I try taking him every hour he will have already peed or pooed in his diaper when I take it off.

Around 2 with DS1. DS2 is 18 months and shows no interest in it so I'm not pushing him to either.

4, 2, and 2.

My oldest was 4, but she had some developmental issues.

He wasn't fully PT'ed until right around the time he turned 3.

Your MIL can suck it.

I introduced it a few months ago he's 21 months old right now... but not pushing it and just letting him go when he feels like it and so far he's only peed in it once. My SIL who just had her son 3 weeks ago said he should be potty trained already
but I don't want to force it because he will then not want to do it. KWIM?

I showed DS his potty chair once and had him sit on it naked once before a bath. He looked confused and got up lol. He's 18 months. I'm not worried about it :)

Around 2.5 I knew he was ready. We had to wait for medical reasons so he started at 2 years 8 months and got it in day.

The best thing I learned, is you cant force it, when they are ready they are ready.

yeah, apparently SO was potty trained before 16 months.

i really doubt that unless she was picking him up eveytime she guessed he had to go potty lol.

my son has a potty chair already but he has no interest in it, so it's still sitting around collecting dust. i told her to chill out. she thinks it's going to cause him to be a bedwetter  ugh, sometimes i just want to give her a swift slap, but then i wake up from that fantasy lol.
