With your second, third and so on births; did your older LO (s) stay in the room with you and experience the baby being born?

Do you plan on having your older LO (s) be in the room with you for your next Birth?

why yes or why not.

If you did have older children in the room with you, how well did it go and what was their age?

Sorry this post was kind of all over the place lol. TIA

My son was in the room with me for about half of my labor until family came and helped. He was not in there for any of the pushing baby out.

My 16 month old son was there the entire time but I delivered at a birth center... I dont think most hospitals allow that.

No DD was only four and was not ready to experience something like that. I didnt think it was fair for her to sit and watch me be in pain. She stayed with my in laws and came and met DS the next day.

My mom wanted all us kids there when she had my youngest and it was horrible. Age range was 5-16 (I was 11, there were 4 of us) and every single one of us hated it. We all remember it and it was horrible to get that kind of view of my mom lol I turned green and almost passed out. I won't have my kids in the room while I give birth.

I had my first in there when my second was born. My first and second were in the room when my third was born. I loved it. My mom was there to take care of them so I didn't have to. I hope to have all 3 of them there when I have this baby but we are going to be having this baby at a different hospital so I'm not sure if they will let me.

My daughter was a week away from turning 9 when LO was born and no, she was not in the room. I could understand kids visiting for a few minutes when it's not intense, but when it gets intense and the pushing part comes, I just don't feel like it's a good place for kids. Also it can get crazy or something could be wrong with the baby and the kid could be scared.

I think I'll probably have him in there just for labor but not pushing. I don't even know if I'll get to that or have a csection. Or if anyone will be able to come watch him heh.

Me and my son were with my cousin while she gave birth. but he was also 11 months old and didnt quit get what was going on.

We are thinking about having him in the room with us with our second. hes now 2.5 WITH back up of course lol.
dont plan on forcing him. and if it doesnt go well he will go out to the waiting room with our backup. but depending on the time of day/night and IF we have family in town im not sure what we are going to do :( we are military and new to the area and only have one friend we can trust with him and im not sure if i would WANT to put that pressure on her say i go in at like 1am! but im not sure what else there is to do.
and he probably wouldnt be having the dirty view lol

this is all IF they even LET him in the room! :/

I had planned to have my 5 yo in there and have my mom at the hospital in case she wanted to leave. But would have allowed her the whole time. Unfortunately complications arose and I ended up with a schedule csection. If I ever have another kid shell still have the option if I do a vbac.

When I was in labour with Marcus, my older kids were with Dh and I the entire time. They were 6, 3, and 15 months old. They did really well. We closed the curtain when it was time to push though.
When I was in labour with Vincent, all of them were in the room again. They were 7, 4, 3 & 2 years old. Again, they loved the experience of being their for the birth. They didn't see anything though, because they we closed the curtain when it was time to push.

We are military also but my mom was there to watch my kids. I had a really big room both times and they were on the other side so they didn't see any of the gross parts lol. They watched cartoons while I was pushing.

Lol My 3 and 2 year old watched cartoons while I was pushing. My 7 and 5 year olds were cheering me on(from the other side of the curtain) yelling "PUUUUSSHH MOMMY! PUSSSHH!!!" Lol
