"Love" is colorblind. Attraction to a person and the desire to "date" is sometimes motivated by more than what the heart wants.
Whether it's a persons color, ethnicity or "type," some people date to experiment, to piss someone else off or to make themselves feel cooler than their friends and family.
To "not believe in it" is dumb. That said, there is nothing wrong with preferring or being more attracted to people of similar culture. I use "culture" broadly here - race, ethnicity, religion, family-orientation, socio-economics, etc.

Is this still a thing? Lol gosh what is this, the 50s? Race is a non-issue to me, but culture is important. I wouldn't have gotten involved with a guy who wasn't from my culture, because it's important for me to preserve it in my children. I think intercultural dating/marriage can prove to be difficult without compromise and understanding.

But one of your kids might just to spite you or to be cool. And, if you object, you might get classified as a bigot.

It's up to my kids to decide what they want for themselves. I'm not the type of parent who tries to live through my kids' shoes. I'm just talking about myself here. If my kid doesn't put culture in the same priority as I do, then more power to them and I'll accept their spouse the same. I just hope whoever they get involved with can stomach sheep head and they better learn how to dance the debke :-D

Oh, I'm not talking about them following their heart. I'm talking about rebellion and spite :)

Well hopefully if I do my job right, I won't seem like a closed-minded jerk parent that they would feel they have to spite. It's important that my children feel like they can trust me and be open about everything, and I will always do my best to be supportive and not judgmental.

Yes. I hope we all aspire to good parenting and a "big picture" approach.

Talk about major backpedaling.

Nice.

Also, there is no such thing as race. Race is a social construct created to divide and conquer.

And this is coming from a black woman who has been in relationships with all different colors of men.

I've only dated white people but then I only really know white people IRL. All through School there was never any students who weren't white..... I'm sure DH said there was one black boy that was at his School. Scotland as a Country is pretty much predominantly white.

With that being said I find all races attractive and had I not grown up somewhere that is more or less 100% white I'd have definately dated outside my race.

I don't care who someone else dates, or falls in love with. I would never date outside my race, because I'm only attracted to white people. That's my personal preference.

I definitely agree that people should not fuck pigs. Or cows.

I agree with this as well. That's just nasty, unless of course you are a cow or pig. In that case it would be ok. :)
