Two nights ago I lost my baby at only five weeks along. My heart is so broken. I'm having trouble sleeping and I feel like there's a huge dark cloud over me. It isn't fair. I just don't understand. I go back to the doctor tomorrow to see if there's something wrong with me that caused this. I know it's stupid, but I keep hoping I'll go there and have that ultrasound and that there will still be a baby there.

I know how you're feeling. I lost 4 precious babies before i gave birth to a live baby. Ask your doc to check your progesterone levels. Low progesterone was the reason for my early miscarriages.

I'm so sorry. I have lost two at 5 weeks and is awful. You are not crazy for hoping that something will still be there. I had that thought too. Hang in there it does get easier. Hope you can get some answers. Remember it is likely that there is nothing wrong with you and that the baby had chromosomal abnormalities that kept it from developing.

Lol I always look at due-dates to find due date buddies :). And yeah I do not mean to be insensitive at all but I am just confused.

Her last post was in April 2012 and said she was due in a few days. I'm guessing she never changed her due date after she had that baby.

That was the due date with my last baby, who was born April 18th of last year. I haven't been on since then.

Do you know for sure you lost the baby because some bleeding can be normal in pregnancy? My cousin bled for the first 8 weeks & is 17wks pregnant today & I thought for sure she miscarried, but she didnt, and they never found out why she was bleeding!

I guess I don't know 100% for sure, but I bled a lot and am still bleeding. I took five positive pregnancy tests, and on all of them it was a light, but very clear positive. When I called about my bleeding, they didn't even have me go.to the hospital. They just told me to elevate my feet, take Tylenol, and follow up with my ob after the weekend (which to me felt very wrong, but they said there's nothing they could do at five weeks along). It would be wonderful if my baby was still in there, but with the amount of bleeding, Idk how it could be.

I follow up with my ob tomorrow so I guess I'll find out for sure then. I'm scared. And nervous.

Don't give up....it could still be possible. I wouldn't totally give up until your OB actually tells you that you miscarried. With my last daughter, I bled a lot around 8 weeks and cramped really bad. It felt just like my first miscarriage but when I went to the hospital, my cervix was closed, the ultrasound showed a very healthy heart beat and the bleeding eventually stopped on its own. This pregnancy, I have had so much bleeding it's not even funny. I thought there was no way there could be a baby in there but low and behold....the heart beat is still going nice and strong. I have heard of a lot of women who bleed and even severely bleed in pregnancy and still go on to having healthy normal babies. Good luck.
