If your child was refusing to sleep in their room? I let LO pass out on me and I go to put him in his bed and I will be like moving him down towards his bed and he flips out. Like he wakes up out of a completely dead sleep and just freaks out and refuses to sleep in his room. Before hand you can move him all you want and he won't wake up but it is like he senses he is in his room and just will not go to sleep in there no matter what and lately just won't sleep in there period. I am f**king exhausted from him sleeping in our bed from having to contort myself to make him comfy. Help please? (20 months old btw)

The way we did it was:

Lots of love and kisses. Put him to bed. When he started crying after 2 minutes I'd go in and comfort him. Rub his back or pat his bottom. Never talked to him or anything just soothed him. Left. After 5 minutes of crying went back in. Repeated the soothing, and repeated going back in every 5 minutes. Took just about a week but now most of the time we can give him his loves and put him to bed and call it good.

We actually did try this and it didn't work. It is like he is scared of his room. Like we redid the whole thing so that maybe he would feel better sleeping in there but no bueno. He seriously screams bloody murder. Like our neighbors probably think we are killing him or something when he wakes up like that.

He has a crib so that doesn't work. I was thinking maybe it is time to turn his bed into a toddler crib but I am not sure.

Will his crib fit in your room?

Yep. He was actually sleeping in our room until we moved into a two bedroom. DH won't let me put it back in our room because he wants LO to learn to sleep in his own room. :?

I'd try and talk to him about it. It may just not work right now. You could possibly try something neat that lights up the room and music too.

This! We got DS into his own room with one of those stuffed animals that project stars onto the ceiling. He was fine after 2 nights having it and now he even sleeps in a toddler bed with no fuss :)

I got him those and two night lights and a lamp and a clock that glows in the dark and a moon that you put on the wall and it goes through the cycles. We have tried it all at different times all at the same time in different combos and none of it works.

My baby is 18 months this week and I'm having nighttime troubles with him too. He was on an awesome bedtime routine with no fuss or fighting, we would give him his bottle and lay him down awake in his crib and he'll fall asleep on his own, but out of no where, he broke out of that routine and no way in hell will he go back to sleep in his crib. It's exhausting and only way he'll go to sleep now is inbetween mommy and daddy in our bed :\.. I dunno the cause of it and I just hope I can get him back on track before it's worse.
