Ok so at 32 weeks I found out I was dialated to a 3 and was put on strict bed rest well having a 3yr old and a house we moved into less than a week prior I havent been doing so well staying on bed rest. I am now 34weeks and 2days I am wonderinghow your babies did born at this gestational age and if or how long they were in the NICU? Im just worried since we live in a small town if he would be air lifted to Salt Lake and how long roughly we would have to live away from home...

My dd was 35+4 and had steroids at 26 weeks. She had a 3 day nicu stay for low blood sugar. And spent te forth day in my room then we went home together. 35 weekend are hit or miss. I've heard of some need a 2 week stay and have breathing and eating issues then I've heard of 35 weekers going home the next day never needing a nicu stay. All you can do is keep LO in as long as possible. Good luck Hun.

Good luck :) after 34 weeks it won't be too bad so you're kind of in the safe preemie zone. And I assume u had steroids? I was even able to bf As well whereas they had me worried that she wouldn't be able to bf.

Yes I had those painful steroid shots! lol. I hope he is able to breast feed after birth!!!! I am planning on strictly breast feeding this one my first was too small and we didnt have a good lactation specialist and being only 18 I gave up and went to formula and pumped for a while.

I had donor bm as well because she needed supplemented cause of her low blood sugar. But definitely ask on here for support. And pm me anytime cause bfing a preemie is much diff than bfing a FT baby I found out haha. But you can do it :)

I had my daughter at 34w1d with steroid shots at 32w. We spent 40 days in NICU, came home 2 days before due date. She wasnt (still isnt) a big eater. Most only stay 2 weeks.

Just STAY ON BEDREST!! I was on bedrest for all 3 of mine and it was horrible I know! But seriously, you would do anything for your 3 year old right? Anything??? So why can't you do anything for your baby that isn't born yet?

The NICU is a horrible place that you don't ever want to go to. My 35 weeker was in there for only 5 days, but those 5 days were pure HELL!

My 32-weeker stayed for a month. We had the best experience at our NICU that you could hope for, given the circumstances. It's a learning process and its challenging a lot of the time, but you never know how strong you are until you go through it. I hope your baby keeps baking a while longer. I also have a 3-yr old and it was tough to manage, but feel free to PM me if you find yourself with a baby in the NICU and want some support! BG was really helpful for me. It helped normalize a lot of what we experienced and continue to experience!

I honestly think my first was earlier than what they said cause she was so small and had so many health issues! IM thinking this boy is already bigger than she was.

I agree, our 3 days stay was the worst 3 days of my life so far.

That really sucks:( I feel bad considering ours was tough but we were fortunate to be at a really good NICU with a lot of support. Made a bad situation seem less awful.

I had a great nicu and nicu LC and nicu dr. She would have stayed much longer if it werent for them!!! But it was just not fun walking across the hospital every 2-3 hrs after a csection for 3 days. And then sitting in an uncomfortable chair for an hour. Id get back to my room, potty, pump, Then getting settled back into bed and just as I closed my eyes had to start it all over again haha. I don't think I got any sleep my whole 4 day hospital stay. Of much rather have had my baby in my room. I hated being away from her. I hated having to stay 4 more days after a 4 week hospital bed rest. I was in so much extra pain. I had a bothy nurse who kept trying to make me sleep instead of feed my baby which made it more stressful. Nobody reminded me to ask for meds so I'd be so tired and forget to ask for them and end up in so much pain I would just cry anytime I had to get up and down (which was constantly). It would have been nice to get to rest and heal and bind with my baby and not have to go through all that :(
