Quoting My boys=My life~15weeks:" I do think they would.. If I put some music on that was constant they wouldn't wake up to the hustle going on."

I would keep them there then, not sure if I'd have them witness the birth. It all depends on how you think they'd feel. My Aunt had my cousin in the room when she delivered, but she was also a little older. Before the birth she had her watch a video of another woman giving birth, not sure if that would work for you.

Yeah she's been a really good big sister. She is three years old now and baby is eight months. She still rushes over to us if baby cries so one of us can get her. She loves to be a helper too, picks out diaper, new outfit, and gives her toys. We may have just gotten lucky lol.

Maybe they'll just think you're taking a bath?

The water will be bloody at the end, but you can't really tell its blood. Our daughter never even paid attention to it.

Did you find your labor and delivery was much easier at home?

Well the water did helped with pain. It was so nice to just go to my own room with our newborn instead of having to drive home. During labor at home I was also aloud to eat, which kept my energy up.Right after birth my midwives cooked me eggs, and cleaned up the mess. I had a wonderful postpartum bath with our newborn too with herbs to help heal. That was divine.

I am lucky though as my hospital birth with our oldest was also uncomplicated natural birth. Our doctor was great. I think it's really the little things that made the home birth more comforting like not having bunch of student nurses in the room.

Yeah the bath was great, very relaxing and helped my bond with the newborn.

PPD is not fun, I had it with our first pretty bad. With our second I took placenta pills which helped a lot.

Are you doing it yourself or paying a doula to do it? It worked really well for me so I hope it helps you too.
