She went to the hospital last night because her water broke. I dont know exactly what time but it was after midnight. When do women usually give birth after their water breaks. I heard no more then 24 hrs after the water breaks, is this true? if so I then she will have the baby today. Im very excited for them.

When my water broke at home with DD I had her about 4 hours afterwards.
My water broke with LO when I was at the hospital with contraction and I had her about 1 1/2 hour after that.

Hope she has an easy labor!

depends on the hospital, mine told me my daughter would be there within 12 hours.. although they sped it along to suit themselves.

There's no specific time frame... however 24 hours after your water breaks most hospitals will give you Pitocin to speed things up or give you a C-section to reduce the risk of infection

I gave birth 16 1/2 hours after my water broke. I'm not sure what's "normal".

Congrats!

Up to 48 hours here but you have to have the UK version of pitocin after 24 hours if nothing has started by then x
