Any tips, what might help? Blessed Mama of Two (: Due May 1; 1 child; St Paul, Minnesota 325 posts24th Apr
My doc ran did a blood draw yesterday, bcuz my blood pressure was high. I will be 39 weeks thursday. He called me this morning & said everything looked fine, just my iron level was very low 8.6 to be exact. He prescribed me some stronger dosage of iron pills, and said to take them twice a day with orange juice. I am also delivering my baby via csection this Friday morning, April 26th. He said he called the surgeon whose performing the csection & ran the labs by him to make sure it was still safe.. He said it was. I know this may be a silly question, but would I possibly have to have an iron infusion at all? Or would they probably just have me continue taking the iron pills my doc prescribed after I give birth? And plus I'll have an IV (don't know if this matters or not).

I don't know about that specifically but when I had my blood draw they said I had low platelets and ha to be asleep for my c section. I dd some convincing and the anaesthesiologist agreed to let me be awake. I would think that if you were at a high risk of something like that that they would put you under for it
