If you've given birth both ways, do you think that you felt better more quickly after labor and delivery when you didn't get the epidural?

I did pretty well both times. I felt better without an epidural I'd say, however, that baby was MUCH smaller, so it was less stress on my body I think.

Either way though I could get up and was fine by the next day. I didn't need any pain pills or anything with either.

Me too. I'm being induced in a few weeks, I'm debating on still trying with no epidural.

What about during pushing, when baby was coming out?

With DS I was induced and went in saying I did not want an epidural... yea pitocin induced contractions SUCK so I got the epidural.

I was induced both times. I had an epi the first. No epi the second time. The first baby was smaller than the second baby. Exactly a pound smaller. It was pretty equal how I have felt after delivery both times though.

That's what I've heard. I'm hoping that since she isn't a big baby and I'll only be either 36 or 37 weeks and I've already made a little progress on my own that it'll go faster and that I can handle it. I'm nervous about the pitocin because I don't want an epidural.

I am not gonna lie to you it was very painful without the epidural while in labor and pushing but once the baby is out you dont feel a thing and you forget about all the pain. I didnt want to do it without the epidural but i had no choice it wouldnt work because of the way he was positioned. It is definitly do able without any meds if thats the route you chose to go

With DD I was induced so I knew right away I'd want the epidural but I did 9 hours on pitocin without it so I feel like if this baby comes on its own (I'm really going to avoid induction) then maybe I can handle it natural but the pushing part is what scares me lol.
