Infant seats are for RF only. Convertable infant seats can go both ways.

I did realize I was thinking of her convertible seat that we turned around. She grew out of her infant car seat because her head was too close to the top, and we had to go to a convertible and rear face that one.

He probably set the carseat in there and took a picture. I wouldn't worry. He clearly knows you shouldn't (and if he didn't know, he does now). Not really a big deal, I mean, it's over with. It obviously isn't something he will continue to do if he did it.

nope, this was a legit infant carrie. the handle bar thing jus pushed all the way up. i even double checked like 3 times to make sure i was seeing correctly.

That was mine too. I think it maybe lasted 5 months? He was too tall.

you cant even buckle an infant carseat in forward facing......he was probably really just taking a pic of his cute kid since you obviously cant get a pic in the rear facing position........
