A girl on my FB posted this story and said essentially - "Obviously the mother started the fire. No way would any woman allow her 4 children to die while she waited in the front yard" something along those lines.

I get it, it sucks, but honestly what if the fire started in the room with the kids. The police don't suspect anything. I can only imagine the heat and smoke would fill a trailer in seconds. I cannot believe what b***hes moms are to each other sometimes. This woman lost FOUR f**king KIDS and everyones all "I cannot believe she didn't burn alive trying to save them" I just don't understand that mentality.

Officials report 4 young children found dead after Hartsville home fire

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - The bodies of four young children have been found after a fire in a Hartsville home, officials confirmed.
Capt. Andy Locklair with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office said the four children found dead were siblings: two boys aged 3 and 4, and two one-year-old twin sisters.
He said the four children lived in the mobile home, located on Depot Street in Hartsville, that was ravaged by fire Wednesday afternoon. The mother of the children was in the front yard when firefighters arrived.
The identities of the children have not been released pending the outcome of the investigation, stated Darlington County Coroner J Todd Hardee. The autopsies are scheduled for Thursday in Newberry.
The Hartsville City Fire Department received a 911 call around 1:53 p.m. Wednesday, and firefighters were on the scene by 1:57 p.m., according to officials with the department. The home was 75 percent involved when crews arrived, and the fire was under control in about 10 minutes.
Seven firemen, a fire officer, two engines, and one rescue truck responded. Hartsville's Mayor Mel Pennington, a volunteer fireman, was also at the scene to assist.
Resources from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and Horry County have been called in to assist in the investigation, which is being called a fire investigation.

That is sooooo sad. I definitely don't blame her.

Personally, I'd run through the fires of hell to pull my kids out, but I don't blame someone for not doing the same. She was probably in shock.

I know I would have ran in and died with my children trying to save them before I would just wait on my lawn

No one knows how they will react in that kind of situation or all the details. As if she doesnt feel crappy enough. Heartbreaking.

You really don't know what kind of reaction you will have when it comes to your dead child/children until that time comes...

Oh, I'm sure all those moms had personal experience in house fires. They don't know how her mannerisms were on the front lawn. They don't know if she had tried to get to them and failed so she ran... Shit... this woman is probably blaming herself already without other people saying it was her fault her children died... :(

Yeah me too! If I had all of my children still in the house NOTHING would stop me from going back in. Or leaving the house in the first place without them.

Idk what happened and I'm a innocent until proven guilty person usually so I won't say anything about the mom until more comes out.

That poor woman. :( It's pretty pathetic that this poor Mother lost her children and there was nothing she could do to stop it and people are so caught up in pointing the finger at her.

I can't imagine what this woman is going through. I could sit here and say I would burn alive trying to save my kids, but maybe shock and panic completely took over for her.

Anyone can speculate and say what they would do if put in that situation but no one really knows until they are faced with that situation.

And she should have been in the same room as them don't you think? Supervising...I don't understand how she didn't save at least one. But I feel really sad for her.

You don't know what you would do. There is no way to know that. And for all we know she was taking out the trash and the door was blocked by debris and there was no way for her to even get in the house.

I mean honestly, if your children died in a house fire do you think you would need strangers to make you feel bad? Or would you feel bad enough?
