Okay so I started having inconsistent contractions this morning and around 2:30 pm I lost my mucous plug. After that contractions where coming every 20 minutes until around 5 pm when they where all around 15 minutes apart. They stayed at 15 until around 6:30 and since 6:30 (its now 8:15) they have progressed to every 8 minutes. I feel like this is all happening way too fast especially for my first child or does this sound pretty normal? The contractions are strong enough that I can't talk through them and if Im standing up I literally just sink to the floor. I always thought that it would take a lot longer for the contractions to start getting closer. Normally I would ask my mom or SOs mom but neither have experienced labor since they had planned c sections.

That sounds like my labor. Wicked fast. I would go to the hospital missy!

With my labor (first and only child so far) My water broke and my contractions were five minutes apart from the start, then they were two minutes apart for the rest of my 16 hour labor.

My labor was very quick. My water broke at 1145 pm on a saturday night and i had him by 529 am the next morning. my contractions started out idk how far apart but when they hooked me up to the machine at the hospital i think they were 4-5 minutes apart, and then within like an hour they were 2-3 minutes apart. I think they stayed that way til i had him. its very possible to go quick for your first baby

there's not really a normal.. it's different for everyone. Sounds good though. WHen they are consistently 3-5 minutes apart, lasting 60-90 seconds each for at LEAST two hours... OR if your water breaks or there is enough blood to change a pad... then it's time to head in
