Getting rid of bottles! Mandi Bass 1 child; Minnesota 1064 posts

DS stopped doing well with his Playtex Ventaire bottles so I purchased some Tommee Tippees. If he likes them and they help his gas, then I will have a ton of Ventaire bottles to get rid of. I don't want to just throw them away-they were expensive and I'm sure someone somewhere could use them. Some of them haven't even been used! I also have 2 TT 5oz bottles that aren't even out of the plastic. DS eats more the 5oz so we won't be using them.

My question is this: Does anyone know anywhere that I can donate them? The thrift shops and food shelf will not take them. Thanks in advance ladies!
Also, if one of you just wants them, you can have them (if DS makes the switch to TT okay. )

Quoting Just Ames:" Don't get rid of the 5 oz TT. You might need them at a later time for juice or water. Also, I give bottles ... [snip!] ... Anyone in need (with a brain) would be very appreciative of it. Oh! Have you called a women's shelter or something similar?"

Thanks for the tip to keep the bottles... I never even thought of that! I can't find any pregnant people lol... None of my friends are pregnant or their kids are to old for bottles or they just don't want them! A Women's shelter is a really good idea! I'm going to check into that. I don't think there's one close to here, but I can always Fed-Ex them! Thank you!

Social services here will often take things for needy families since there aren't really any specific women's shelters around here, but the Homeless Shelter would take them too.

I will check with a social worker too! We have a homeless shelter, but it's only for men. And I'm not sure if it even qualifies as a shelter. They are allowed to sleep there during the winter, but are kicked out at 7 am and can't go back until 8 pm.....

Quoting Just Ames:" For sure! Bottles are no joke man. Those things are expensive. On another note, I wish my Son would have ... [snip!] ... I wish my Son would have took those. They are so cute! But we use MAM and the n****e is flat instead of round like the TT."

Do the MAM bottles work well with removing air? I asked on here what bottles to try, and a lot of people recommended MAM, but they are pretty much the same thing as Ventaire, right? I'm looking for a back up plan incase TT doesn't work.... I'm really really hoping they do though!
