Do not quote plz!!

So my sister tells me that there is a little boy who lives across the way from her (they live in an apt) well the little boy comes over to play with my nephew a lot. I guess the other day when he was there, he saw my nephew waste food and said "Why does he waste food like that? Sometimes I don't even get to eat at all." How sad is that? :( I told her I would make sure he was always fed if I lived there. That poor kid. :( So sad that little boy has to go through that.

I know. :( It isn't right at all. I felt like crying when I heard her tell me that. I wish I could save that little boy.

Before we moved back to this city, there was a family who lived down from us like that. Their mom was NEVER home and their grandmother was bed ridden. The kids ranged in ages from 1-12 and they'd go without eating. When I found out I started feeding them every night myself. They'd be at our house playing til dark anyway, so I just started fixing them each a plate at dinner. It was financially hard feeding 5 extra kids, but I just found ways to cook for cheaper.

Thank you.
I've never been in a situation like that and I've never had to depend on the kindness of strangers or neighbors or anything along those lines...but Thank You for doing that for those kids.

It's sad, bit are you sure he's not telling tall tales? My dd is 5 and if she doesn't get what she wants like something junky she, cry and say you never feed me. She does it when she's with my mom esp like if she wants a kid's meal from micky ds and she makes like tacos or something at her house for her, shell come home and say grandma didn't feed me all day. So ill call my mom, and come to find out she ate like a cow, she just didn't get what she wanted and is trying to guilt me to getting her what she wants.little kids are sneaky like that. Lol but if he's not getting food like he should that's very very sad

i always keep extra juice boxes, fruit snacks, & granola bars handy for that reason. We have quite a few children in our area thats parents are struggling just to pay rent. My kids share their afterschool snacks w/the whole court......its tough on our budget every so often but i sleep better at night knowing my kids are learning the importance of sharing & that their friends are atleast getting a snack.

They helped us as well. They moved away before we did, and I still think about them 3 years later. Kids like that have a way of touching your heart and making you see life in a better way. They were kids most people wouldn't even want in their house, but DH and I saw deeper and past that. My experience living in that city really changed us. We somehow ended up taking in a 16 yr old boy in our time down there as well lol.
