Baby Registries? I'm His Amy He's My Rory 2 kids; Caldwell, Idaho 49283 posts

If someone makes one do you think it's tacky?

My mom is INSISTING on having a shower for this baby. I've asked her not to, we've even fought over it and she's still doing it. Now she wants us to register. I already am not in the best mood over this shower, and now asking me to register. I feel like it's begging almost and tacky to do a registry. Or is that just me?

You should register and fill it with diapers and wipes and call it good. It'd be like a diaper party :)

I was only thinking of adding 2 things besides diapers and clothes to the target one to get the coupon at the end, but I'm worried someone would look at me like an ass. All we need is a crib for her and bedding and or a bassinet. I just don't want to look bad having those on there because I in NO way expect someone to get them.

If you plan on buying them yourself soon anyways I wouldn't put that on there. Maybe the bedding for the crib but that's about it

everyone asked me to do one with this baby, this is our 5th, but it was my first baby shower. i didnt even want the shower tbh, im not that type of person to sit there, play games and all that stuff. i never did the registry, to me it was a waste of time and made me feel like i was asking for people to buy me things, like i was greedy.

Yeah I plan on it in September when she's a few months old if all else fails at getting it before, I just wanted to have the 20% off coupon to use, and it has to be on your registry to use it.

You just add it like right before your shower so that way most people probably wouldn't even see it.

I'd just do small things. Clothes, diapers, wipes, etc. Or add option for gift cards.

Ohhhh good idea! I like that. I don't even know if they have it now. I looked online and it seems they don't there. I wanted to get a matching one to what our son has since they'll be sharing a room that way they don't look funny with 2 different cribs. I'm weird lol

I feel the same way. I have no desire to have a shower again. I had one with my son, and I have EVERYTHING for this baby already. I honestly have 4 items I still need to buy. My mom is insisting on throwing a "gift card/casserole" shower.

Ive stopped arguing it. Ill show up and play nice. I would of have a Welcome the baby type thing but whatever. Crazy old women will do as they please.

My mom had a party for Rory when he was 3 months old. And since he's so little we don't really need much. She's NOT a pleasant person and honestly the shower is more about putting on a show so she looks good. She flat out said she doesn't care if my husband can be there (he's involved in EVERYTHING with the kids, even every single appointment for me or them) she doesn't care and refuses to change the date. She's just ugh. I flat out told her 3 times not to do it, and she's STILL planning it.

No! I don't think so. I like looking through them. :)

I made one for myself, even though I'm not having a shower. It's just my way of keeping track of what we need. I bought the crib yesterday, so I can check that off my list!

I didn't do a registry this time- people got whatever they wanted. I don't think it's tacky- I just personally didn't want to do one for our second.

That's one of my favorite parts. Lol. Running around with the little gun scanning everything. I'm lame. :)

BUT most people don't even use the registry. Or they do, but they don't remember to mark it off when they're checking out so you end up with doubles of things. Lol
