Complete placenta previa?

I woke up really early this morning to a lot of blood, and it was still gushing out when we got to the hospital about 45 minutes or so later. They did IV fluids and took my blood and all that jazz, and did an ultrasound to check on the previa. I passed a really large clot and they monitored me for a while.

My bleeding had stopped when they sent me home (it just started back up again) and the doctor kept telling me that the bleeding is going to be a "chronic thing" for the rest of my pregnancy. I'm only 19 weeks. They said the main thing is to try and get to viability. If I can make it to 24 weeks, and my bleeding is still this bad, they will probably go ahead and do the csection. That scares the living daylights out of me. My earliest baby was 38 weeks some odd days.

Has this happened to any of you? If it did, how is your baby? I'm trying really hard not to freak out about all of this, but I'm not doing a very good job.

It's ok mama. I had complete previa that early. Mine did move up some but because of the previa it cause vasa previa so I was unable to even go long enough to see if I could clear for a vag delivery. I had to be hospitalized from 32-35 weeks when they did my csection at 35+4. If you need to talk feel free to pm me. I had some bleeding sporadically through my preg. Luckily it's maternal blood and unless you are hemorraging you can stay preg safely. Stay on bed rest. I was on bed rest for 2 weeks at 26 weeks for a previa bleed. It stopped luckily. But please if you have any questions just ask. I feel like I've been through it all haha

I'm glad you made it as far as you did! My doctor says he doesn't think it will move at all. It's like, "wrapped" around. I would have a csection anyways so that part isn't anything new, it's just the possibility of having to deliver so early that's scary.

And I will definitely pm you if I think of any questions. I've been up since 345 this morning when it started and I'm exhausted so I can't think

I'm trying to, I just don't want to google cause I'll scare the shit out of myself lol.

James didn't go to work today. He took me to the hospital this morning and called his higher up on the way there to tell him what was going on so he was there all day with me. I got a little nap, but the thunder kept waking me up so I didn't get much :?

This did happen to me I recently underwent an emergency c-section for a total placenta previa.. and by recently I mean 4/16/13. My daughter was only 28 weeks 5 days gestation.. I continued to bleed... not heavily.. but my Hemoglobin was down to a 7.1. I needed a blood transfusion (two bags) was monitored in the hospital for 2 1/2 days before they rushed me for the emergency c-section. I can not believe your hospital released you. If the placenta completely detaches, you could be at major risk for hemorrhaging and losing not just your baby but your own life. I would seek a second opinion immediatly

I agree. The only reason I was released was because my bleeding has turned brown so they knew it was stopping. But put me on modified bed rest for two weeks just in case and if I had started bleeding again I would have had to go back. I dont think theyd have let me leave until I stopped bleeding. But I have heard of some people being able to leave while bleeding. I guess it depends on how bad it is :? idk. You never really know what will happen. Your bleeding may subside and you may be able to get yourself to 36 weeks. You never know. But if it does move out of the way please have them keep checking you for vasa previa. And yes don't goole. Just ask if you have any questions because google will show you awful things. I spent months in complete anxiety because of google. I kept reading horror stories.
