Wow! What's in Tennessee if you don't mind me asking?

Just got done reading a bunch of information on the drug "Lyrica". I am terrified and will NOT be taking it. Apparently the pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, who makes it was just sued for billions for receiving kickbacks from having Doctors over prescribing this drug. They prescribe it off label apparently. It is actually classified as a anticonvulsant but they are prescribing it for nerve pain.
I am not comfortable taking another drug that causes excessive weight gain and massive withdrawal symptoms just to put money in their pocket. No way.
This drug is crazy expensive and it would cost me a $120 copay every month. Not happening. I would rather suffer in pain then go through withdrawal when I can't afford it.
I will stick with the muscle relaxer and the percocet until I go see the Doctor again next month.
Coincidentally, or not, Pfizer is also the company that manufacturers Neurontin. I just had a hell of a time with side effects from that drug. They also manufacture Xanax and Effexor. Both drugs made me a raving lunatic.
I think pain is the lesser of two evils :?

They had me on Xanax for a while and it did nothing. It actually made my anxiety worse cause it wasn't working.

Xanax is supposed to calm you down but it had the complete opposite effect on me. It made me more anxious, more depressed and it made me really mean. I was so nasty that I am surprised my DH didn't take the kids and leave me. The real problem was that I could not see how it was making me act. I thought I was acting perfectly fine.
It was horrible and I will never use those type of medications ever again.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. This thread has been so quiet lately :(. I'm okay. Getting a little nervous the closer I get to my surgery date.

Please tell me that I am not the one in the wrong here

Apparently I am a judgmental bitch because I gave my opinion, yet none of them are judgmental bitches for judging me
This is exactly the reason why I left this forum before and it took me awhile to come back. I hate hypocrites and it is really irritating when about 5 or 6 bitches gang up on one member.

Yea I saw that. I know you weren't trying to be judgmental at first just stating your opinion. That's the thing about public forums its like as soon as someone doesn't agree with the majority it's an issue. You're right, if you only want a certain type of response don't post it in a public forum because that's certainly not guaranteed :). Don't let it get under your skin. Take a deep breath and say fuck it!

That's the part of Baby Gaga I cant stand. If you don't fit the gaga mold then youre wrong. don't co sleep? wrong. Don't breastfeed? wrong. Don't cloth diaper? wrong! I hate it. But there are a few points I love that keep me coming back but I swear this place is high school.

It is. It can never be just a one on one discussion. Everyone else who is friends with that person has to jump on you too. It is ridiculous. So what if I think pregnant women should only sleep with the father of their baby? It is my opinion, right? I am sure I do lots of things that others do not approve of. If I do not want to be judged or criticized for something, I just will not post about it. If you decide to post on it, be prepared to have conflicting opinions. It cracks me up too when someone runs out of points to argue, they start calling you names.
