So I am 39weeks and 3days and my docter wants to induce me tuesday if I haven't went into labor on my owen, only bc the hospital is 2 hours away that I go to. The hospital by my house dosnt have a nicu and my docter dosnt deliver there(witch I just found out my docter isn't the one going to deliver my baby anyways just a docter on call) but I would like to go into labor on my owe. With my first child I had to be induced I went all the way to 42 weeks first, but he said if I go into labor on my owen then go to the hospital by my house if I wanted witch is only ten mins. Away but if that's the case I kinda jus want to wait.. so has anyone ever jus waited it out to see if u went on ur owen? And has walking rilly helped u go into labor.??? Bc my docter told me to try n walk as much as possible...

ehh, I had a bad experience being induced. I will avoid it at all costs this time around.

Walking will help jump start things if you're already in the early stages of labor, but it will not induce it.

If your doctor won't deliver you anyways then why not just do it on your own*? Is there a reason you think you will need the nicu?

Depending on how delivery goes though she could get stuck ah the first hospital while baby is taken away.

Is there a reason why you need to go to the hospital with the NICU or is it a just in case type thing? Either way, I do understand. I chose the hospital in my area with the NICU. Even though I had no issues during my pregnancy & DS measured normal, etc. I felt more comfortable knowing there was an NICU there just in case something went wrong. But I have heard some pretty bad things about being induced, so if it was me, I would wait it out.

Thank u for ur advice everyone and the reason for a nicu is I have liver issues and I have been going to a liver docter who said it would probley be best to be close to a nicu but he is measuring ok and everything and they said there weight for him is around 8 pounds witch I knw isn't always right.. and iv heard so many bad storys about being induced n how much harder it is on the baby.. so I am rilly thinking about telling them I want to wait and see if I can go on my owen I am only dilated to one tho so I figured in the end I'd have to be induced n e ways but I'd at least like to have that chance and like everyone says if there is a problem then they could send him to a nicu and as long as I dnt have a c-section i could go with him but I have a filling he will be ok anyways ;) I jus am rilly mad anyways that my docter never once told me he wasn't going to be delivering the baby till last week so if I'm not going to knw the docter n e way at least be close to home n be able to wait at least till I'm 41 weeks then I'd be more understanding about being induced !!!

i was in labor for 18 hours so i would have plenty of time to drive the 2 hours. maybe when you go into early labor you can get a hotel close by?

I was induced with my oldest two and it went very smoothly. But it doesn't go that way for everyone, so I would just wait. Honestly I think letting the baby come on its own is better, because its fun having that spontaneous moment when you go into labor, and being induced takes that away.

We thought about getting room close by the hospital, but rilly I think id rather have him close to my house if its possible and I mean the hospital closer to home isn't bad or n e thing... and I'd love to get to go threw labor n to fill what its like befor I actually have to go to the hospital bc I dnt think when u get induced u fill the same maybe u do tho idk that's why I'd love to try it and the more storys I hear the more I think it jus be nice to let it happen witch I knw every one is diffrent so i might end up getting induced but I'd at least like to give it a shot ;)
