How old was your baby when he/she lost their belly button stump? My baby is 3 weeks and 3 days and she still had yet to lose hers.

I think DS was a 2-3 weeks old. I thought it was taking forever to come off. You can try putting some rubbing alcohol on it to help. At least that is what DS pedi told us.

I put rubbing alcohol on it every diaper change. It looks like it wants to fall of but it isn't. My oldest daughter it fell off at 12 days

Close to a month, I think. It was stubborn.

I always thought it was suppose to fall off by 2 weeks lol. Boy was I wrong. I hope it's not much longer til it's gone. I'm sick of giving her sponge baths.

DDs took 3 weeks to fall off. It bled for a few days before it came off too. I read somewhere that being in a humid climate could cause it to take longer to fall off, makes sense to me seems I live in FL

With my son, it came off before he left the hospital. With my daughter, it took a little less than a month.

1 son, 2 weeks
second son 3 weeks

Make sure you are using alcohol down where the stump meets the skin to help dry it out. Thats why my seconds didnt fall off until later.

I've never heard that, but that would make sense. I live in lower AL, really close to the water and it took DD's nearly a month.

Odd. I live in the panhandle of Florida and my oldest was born August 12th and hers only took 12 days. My youngest was born April 3rd and we were having a lot of cold weather her first 2 weeks of life and its still attached... I can see a normal belly button when I clean it and it makes me want to just pull it off but I know that would be a big no-no.
