So you have a feeling it might have caused him to be still having accidents? How do you think that happened? (Like where do you think it went wrong, I guess I'm asking).

That because I put him on the toilet every time he needed to eliminate he never developed the sense of needing to go and the ability to do it independently? It's just a guess but like I said, he did it himself from 2 1/2 to 3.

Poops were the easiest for me...dd couldnt help but grunt and it was on a regular schedule lol. I'm hoping to have my lo be an EC graduate by 2 years old, another 6 months.

I didn't know at the time there was a name of it. At 4mo I had introduced some cereals to my EBF DD. It was messing with her tummy causing constipation. After a couple of weeks of this I stopped the cereals but her bowl happits had already changed. It started by me knowing she was going to poop so I would open her diaper and lay her on her back and she would go easier. At 5 months this process was going well, almost every BM so I got a small potty chair from IKEA. So when I knew she had to go I'd put her on there and I swear she would poop almost immediately. From 5-10 months of age we/she did this for nearly all BM, maybe 1/wk in her diaper. We went on vaca at 10mo and when we got back she decided she didn't want to do it as regularly so we backed off. She would do it every once in a while then around 13 mo she was showing more interest so I bought one of the musical potties and she loved it! She just turned 21mo and we have more days of no accidents during waking hours than accidents. She occasionally wakes up dry from overnight and nap but not consistantly so we still diaper over night. We were out all day and night and she did perfect. Asked to go pee several times and poop once:) She amazes us every day with this, we still can't believe it's true. I always say if she pushes away from it, I'd back off but I don't think that's going to happen at this point. Hoping to have her fully done by 2:)

This was between 5-6months. My lil chunker:)

That is so awesome!! I love it when mama's just do whats right for their babies without having to be told. I had no idea it was possible, I had to research it. When I was pregnant i knew there were so many things that were not necessary (like a crib lol) that I googled if diapers were.
Your baby is such a cutie!!
It really is amazing right??!!

It truly is amazing! I really haven't told many people cause I did when it first started and I swear they thought I was forcing her and it was BS... I started for her, it was easier for her. Yes lots of work but I'm with her all day every day so it just works for us.

I had ideas of what I thought I'd be like as a mom and I'm not that at all! LOL I'm very "hippy-ish" LOL We co-shower since 1mo, did family bathing/showering until 11mo when we moved.

I hope your LO picks it up just as easily and is trained by 2:) !

Thank you for not bashing and thank you for the compliments:)!!!

We started at 12 months. We would put her on the potty after waking, nursing, drinking, etc and we would get lots of pees. Poops are a little harder for us for some reason, but we can normally catch her when she first starts and put her on to finish. She is 18 months and will rip off a diaper if she has to pee and will go to the potty or just pee in the floor lol. Today she is trainers and no accidents so far. :)
