starting to worry.. Leah+2 2 kids; Texas 5797 posts

I'm starting to worry about my son. He gets a multivitamin and probiotic almost daily (unless we're out or something then I usually forget) but if he goes more than one day without the probiotic he gets a HORRIBLE diaper rash once he poops. Even if we only leave him for a couple minutes (to make sure he's actually done)

We don't switch up foods or detergent or diapers or wipes. Its something internal that the probiotics fix. I understand the most obvious answer is to continue the probiotics. But I don't think it's normal for a 3 year old to NEED them the way he does... I'll give them to avoid the rashes til we find what's causing this.

Any advice? What is my next step?

Talk to his doctor about it.

Encourage him to go to the toilet, then his poo won't be all over his butt irritating it.

Yes. I understand he needs to potty train. We're working on it. That doesn't help the fact that something is wrong inside of him.

Yeah that is what I would do. Ask for a referral for a gastrointerologist (spelling).

Ok. Thanks :) I'll make him an appointment and hope I get some answers. It took over a year to get an ENT referral and he ended up needing his tonsils and adenoids removed...
