My sister is due May 2nd with her 3 child. Her first daughter is 4 years old, Aubrey, and the second ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks, and she got pregnant right after with her third, another girl Aaralyn. Since about 36 weeks she was diganosed with high BP and she has been in and out of L&D. No protien in her urine or any signs of pre-eclamps. She had an U/S last Tuesday to check the fluid, the movement, and all that good stuff. She was borderline LOW for fluid and the baby wasnt making very much movements. The lady even had to get the buzzer to get her to move, and even with that she didn move until the 3rd buzz! Her appointment was at 1:30 and she didnt get seen until 3:30 because he was so busy. When he walked into the room he checked her, she was dilated to a 1 not effaced at all but baby was low. He listened for the heartbeat and right after that he walked out. She didnt even get the chance to ask him questions because he was so behind and ended up being very busy. Forgot to mention shes been on bedrest since about 37 weeks. Her BP is fine while shes laying down but once shes up its high usually 150s/90s. high 90s at that. Today when she woke up she was feeling VERY uncomfortable and was having braxton hick contractions every 5 mins that lasted for about a min. She ened up going into L&D again they monitered her for a good hr, check her and she was still at a 1 and soft not effaced at all and then sent her home. Since shes been home she has been having ALOT of pressure and pain in her lower back. She also has been feeling the urge to use the bathroom(push). She called L&D and they said it was normal because they checked her? The hospital she will deliver at is a good 45 mins away so she cant just go and be sent back home an hr later again. My question to all you mommas is, Do you think shes inpre labor? Do you believe there is a way to get her to efface faster? Im watching her daughter for her for the night because my sister keeps crying and its freaking out her daughter lol.[not funny i know] but what do you think? whats your input? anything helps and sorry its sooo long!!

With her first daughter she was 6 days over due and when she went in to get induced she wasnt even a fingetip dilated or soft at all. She was in labor for 24 hrs and 41 mins! My niece was 9lbs 4 oz and 21in.! Her dr says hes not guna let her go past the due date because her first labor was horrible. The baby was pushing on the tailbone instead of the cervix which is why she wasnt dilated at all. So im hoping and praying it doesnt end up like her last labor!! =\

there really is no way to get her to thin out quicker. unfortunately most dr's won't keep you unless your cervix is changing. we always tell everyone to take tylenol and when the contractions get to 5 minutes apart CONSISTENTLY to come back. Good luck to her

ts waht i figured, when i was pregnant i started the evening primrose oil pills at 37 weeks and it helped me a ton! i told her but she is horrible with pills so i guess she will come when she wants. i know there isnt no way to "naturally induce" unless the baby is ready and shes not! thanks for your input!
