A woman should be able to wear whatever the hell she wants to wear and not have to worry about someone raping her.

The fact that anyone would say otherwise is disgusting.

Yes. People should be able to dress however the hell they want. A woman could walk around naked and that still wouldn't give any man the right to put his hands on her in that way. I however think if you're going to be showing all of your body parts then you should probably expect some staring  No one ever has the right to rape another person ever. No one asks to be raped or has any responsibility in a rapist's choice because of the clothes they're wearing.

yes a rapist will rape no matter what the girl is wearing, but you dont.think he might pick his target based on accessibility clothing.wise?

Even if that was true, sweat pants or yoga are just as accessible as a skirt. One you pull up, one you pull down. I thought you were talking about women dressing like "sluts".

Seriously??? The responsibly doesn't "start" with the man. The responsibility IS the man's. Women are not responsible for being raped in ANY way shape or fashion. Uggghh this whole thread just pisses me off. When I was raped, I was wearing jeans an a t-shirt and was raped by someone I know. I wasn't at a nightclub. I wasn't dressed slutty or anything with easy access. It's not a woman's responsibility to make sure she doesn't get raped.

Yes she should be able to dress how she wants. And it's absolutely ridiculous that you think otherwise

No, what they are wearing does not make them any more of a target.

Nope.
Most rapists don't rape on a whim. Their victim is picked out long before the rape takes place so whatever clothing the victim wears is not affecting the decision.

They should absolutely be able to wear whatever they want. I'm a stripper so I'm mostly naked almost every night...I guess that's why I was raped.

I hate that this is still something we are pondering as a society. Not only does it place responsibility on the woman, but it creates a false sense of safety. Like, "oh I'm wearing overalls tonight. That means I don't have to worry about being raped!" We should be teaching girls to be aware of their surroundings, and all that encompasses. Not that they won't get raped if they don't dress "slutty."

Honestly, I'm not all that sensitive about my rape. It's behind me and I can talk about it freely, but a lot of women aren't there yet. So it might not be a bad idea. When I said I hated this thread, I meant that I hate that this is a question that is still so widely asked. It's not your fault you asked it, we've been trained that way for decades.
