Tubes tied during c-section. Questions... Stefaleigh 3 kids; Kingston, Pennsylvania 3025 posts

I have a few questions.

I'm pregnant with my third and we decided that during my c-section I'll be getting my tubes tied. I'll be telling my doctor when I go this week I just have a few questions.

You still get your period, right?
What are the chances of getting pregnant again? (tubal I'm sure)
If you do get your period every month, what happens to the eggs that you would normally drop? Do they just build up in the tube??
Does it hurt any different than a normal c-section after having your tubes tied, or does it just feel the same?? And would it take longer to heal?

Thanks!

Yes you still get your period.
Getting pregnant is in about the 1%
The eggs absorb into your body.

I never had a C Section, but i've had a tubal and I'd take a guess that it might be a little bit more uncomfortable.

1.4 percent.

Your body absorbs them.

No, I wouldn't think so. My mom was up and doing normal things lifting baby and such after she had hers at 6 weeks PP after a vaginal delivery. I know C Sections are painful but that shouldn't be any worse though.

Thank you! I read that you have a burning pain in your stomach afterwards, but I figured I'd already be in pain from the c-section so it shouldn't be much difference (I hope so anyway)

I had mine tied during my third c-section also. So I can help a little here.

Yes you still get a period. Mine is a lot worse since I had them tied though. But that could just be because my body hates me and hates my period even more. Lol.

Doctor told me getting pregnant again is like such a small chance. Not sure on what exactly. I just know personally I've known people who have never gotten pregnant again. So it's good.

Not sure what happens to my eggs. Never asked.

And the pain isn't much different. I had a small burning and pinching feeling (that I had never felt before, so I figure its from my tubal). It only lasted about a week or so. And it wasn't horrible. Just uncomfortable.
