My baby girl is 6 months old and sleeps with mommy. It's very challenging and hard to get her to sleep at night by herself. So I gave up on trying to get her to sleep alone. And I hate hearing her cry herself to sleep because she just goes on and on. Advice please on getting her to sleep by herself.

Lol. I personally dont see anything wrong with my baby sleeping with me. I'd just like to have my side of my bed back to myself. Lmao

I wish I knew. My child is 20 months and still sleeps in our bed most of the time. Sometimes I get a few hours of my bed to myself though.

I don't see a problem with it, until they get a bit older. My son slept with us until he was 2 when we decided it was best he sleep on his own. I never wanted to co sleep with him but from the moment he was born he didn't sleep unless i was right there or someone was. At 2 we got him into his own bed by laying with him until he fell asleep. By 3 1/2 he did it without us. He still wakes up and comes to my bed early in the morning. My goal with my daughter is to not co sleep but i have a really hard time with cio so we will see.

stop the cycle now!!..lol..my 3 year old has been sleeping with me since he was roughly 3 months old...I loved it then, I got extra sleep, he didn't cry...now I have NO SPACE, I get kicked and hit by him in his sleep, he's dead weight so moving him is impossible and I've even gone to the measures of moving him to his own bed when he falls asleep every night and it doesn't work at all!..he ends up in my bed before morning! and now with a new born it's practically impossible to get any sleep at night!!...I refuse to let our new baby sleep with us just because we have absolutely no room for her and I don't want this problem 3 years down the line!!....

If you want her in her own bed I suggest doing it sooner rather than later. Don't ask me how, though - my three year old is snoozing away in my bed this very moment. :P I honestly don't mind a bit - I get lots of flack about it from family, but I'm the one who it affects, not them.

My 11th month old sleeps with us, for the most part.
Her crib is right next to my side of the bed.and the front is off of it so if she wakes up and wants to cuddle with me, she can crawl to me.

Who cares if people approve. You're a big girl I'm sure you know the risks. You might have to let her cry for a while until she gets used to it. I wish I could sleep with my lo, it would be so much easier to bf during the might, but I'm too paranoid of Sids.

My DD is 5 and still sleeps with us. We move her when she goes to sleep but when we wake up there she is.

Lol. Seems we all have the same problem. I love sleeping with her but her daddy likes to take up half the bed and we only have a full, and she likes to squirm in her sleep. I only said some may not approve, because I've seen people bitching about kiddies sleeping in beds with parents b/c of sids and whatnot. I just wish it was ALOT easier for her to sleep on her own. As it is, I have to swaddle her to get her to sleep most nights, and she likes it but she sweats so much in it.
