I co-sleep with my babies. Both my 2 year old and 7 month old sleep in bed with me. My 2 year old has recently been sleeping on the floor... by his choice. I take it as his way of telling me that he is ready to sleep in his own bed. I am going to get him a toddler bed and see how he takes to it, it will be kept in my room for awhile. I think when we are both comfortable with it, I am going to move it into him own bedroom... Do I need to invest in baby monitors? His bedroom is right next to mine so im pretty sure that I would hear him if he got up, and if he did he would more than likely just come into our room. But would it be a good idea just to get them anyway? What do you think?

I wouldn't, personally.

I was given monitors and I never use them. My son is 2. When he wakes up, he sits on his bed and cries or plays with his stuffed animals

I wouldn't bother, I moved DD into her own room at 4 months and her room is down the hall from mine, I hear her when she wakes up. The monitor will make you wake up for every noise he makes and it's a pain in the butt.
