What's the point of letting your child's boyfriend sleep over at 15 if they sleep in different areas? Like why can't he go home at night and if he misses her soooo much come over at 6 am for breakfast.

In my home? Never unless they are married.

I know I can't expect my kids to do what I want. But I can expect them to respect MY beliefs in MY home.

I'm finally getting married in January after 10 years of legal defacto with my partner, and it will be the first time we'll be allowed in a bedroom together in my parents house with the door closed. And I'll be nearly 31 at that stage.

there is now. I've been stuck in hospital for 3 days and have booked my venue, reception, catering, and celebrant during that time.

Quoting Destiel:" this is the rule my dad has even though we own our own home and have a child together."

my parents used to have this rule with me, when I was dating DH (we lived 8 hours apart), he was allowed to stay in the house, but I was also 31 and had recently moved home temporarily, but we couldn't stay in the same room. Well 3 months before I was due to move up here, I lost my job due to the company going under, and my mom told me why dont I just move up there now, so I did that. Well the first time we came to visit after I moved up there, I about fell over dead, she had the basement set up for us to sleep together. I grabbed her and said who are you and what did you do with my mother, she just laughed. My mom is very old fashioned so not only did it surprise me that she was okay with us living together before we got married, that she actually let us sleep in the same room when we came to visit her before we were married.

HAHA cute! My husband and I had to stay with my parents for like 4 or 5 days before we were married because we were in the middle of moving from one town to where were now live 30 miles apart and needed to watch some kids at my parents. It was just weird sleeping in the same "room" as him there.
