My dr counts it as the day you turn 12 weeks ur completed ur first tri....12+1 is the first day of the 2nd tri. Silly how nobody agrees-_-

Nah, if you do the math, *that's* silly. 40 weeks, divided by three, each trimester is 13 weeks and a little over 2 days. 13 weeks is definitely more accurate

This:!: Mainly because if we all went by 12 weeks then 12x3 would be 36 weeks & that's 4 weeks shy of a full term pregnancy. Back when people assumed it was only a 9 month thing I could see them saying 12 weeks was the end of the 1st trimester but now with updated info it doesn't make sense nor is it accurate because then the 3rd trimester would have more weeks than the other 2. I probably put way too much thought into this response LOL

Very weird! I have always been taught that the LAST day of week 13 is the last day of the first trimester, which makes the FIRST day of week 14 the second trimester.

I'm just waiting until 13.5 weeks since that's about when if you go by dividing everything up. I think some doctors say 12 weeks go by fetal development and not the actual days if that makes sense.

It all really depends on how you look at it tbh and how you're counting your trimesters.

See if I were to go by this site it gives me 3 different start dates of the 2nd trimester because there are 3 different ways of looking at it. http://www.baby2see.com/trimester_calculator.html

If we go by fetal development I've already started the 2nd trimester on the 21st, if we go by gestation (dividing 40 weeks) I start the 2nd trimester the 1st of July, and if we go by conception (which goes by 38 weeks) I start July 10th which I'd be a little over 14 weeks. I'm 13 weeks as of tomorrow.

That makes sense as to how everyone comes up with different answers. I'm sticking to mine though.... hehe

This is interesting, I just never really think about what trimester I'm in if people ask I just say how many weeks I am.
