<blockquote><b>Quoting Ashley&Jessie+4:</b>" Only 50 minutes until I get to go back to my midwife to listen to Baby Brown's little heartbeat :) I'm ... [snip!] ... a sonogram. Any advice on how to calm their nerves? I feel like sitting them all down and giving them a childbirth 101 class. "</blockquote>

Tell them that a midwife is what most pregnant women need as their care provider when pregnant as long as they are low risk. They can use a Doppler and measure fundal height just as well as a doctor! Lol
And if you aren't finding out the sex of the baby and wouldn't do anything different about the pregnancy if they see something wrong theres really no need for a sonogram.

I had some people react the same way. "Oh but what if something goes wrong THEN will you see a doctor?!?" Well gee thanks for being so negative. I love my midwives!

This time around I'm shutting people up by telling them I'm having a midwife because she is more ok with saving my placenta so I can have it encapsulated. Totally shuts people up and I'm sure they go whisper about what a weird hippy I've become

My family feels as though I am a crazy woman because I clean my home with vinegar or Dr. Bronners... we use goats milk soap in the bath... we use cloth diapers/wipes... and I refuse to get the vitamin k shot, eye goop, or any other unnecessary medical "treatment" for my infant. They're lucky I haven't gone to wearing grass skirts and stopped shaving/bathing just to see their reaction lol

Omg I've been having the worst hip pain today, I say hip because it's just my right hip. I've been so uncomfortable all day. :(

Quoting MotherFalcon~15weeks!:" congrats!! so exciting you got to see gender!!"

Thank you! I was soo surprised! I thought it would be my next appointment before I would know!!! My doctor was surprised that my uterus was measuring 17 weeks(at least - she said 19 weeks at first) and I only thought I was 14w 2d, so she sent me to get a sonogram to see if it was twins or something and it was only one, but he was measuring 15 weeks! I've always had to wait until 20 weeks to find out the gender, so I was amazed!!! Sadly, since we weren't expecting it my SO couldn't be there since he was at home watching our older son. Not a big deal though!

The OP is no longer in the group so if you want her to add something I would PM her and see if she can do it for you.
