Rant...

I just recently found out that Im expecting baby # 2 and my first thoughts were, vbac. Well low and behold the only hospital in my area has a de facto ban. Talk about breaking your heart. I cant even remember half of my sons birth and it took me months after to get over the fact thay I had a c-section and now Im back to square one. Im not sure how im going to feel after my first prenatal on Thursday when I actually here them say the dont allow vbacs. Im looking ingo a few midwives but my area is very limited in well anything medical.

End rant.
:(

Or drive out of your area to a different hospital?

Don't be discouraged. Even though your options might be limited you can always ask your doctor if he says no then trying checking out the possibilities of home birth with a mid-wife. It is worth a try. It is very possible to have a totally natural birth after previously having a c-section. Just make sure you communicate firmly what your desires are. Good luck sweet heart.

Try looking into an HBAC! hospitals in my area have many limits and restrictions when considering a vbac that you're most likely not going to get it once you're admitted into the hospital...I am looking into it i've read some great stories and have seen awesome hbac inspiring videos! don't give up!

I would love a hbac but Dh wont support it. Im new to my area so finding a midwife is proving more difficult than back home where vbacs are very much accepted.

I had to drive 2 hours for a Dr. in Oklahoma who carried malpractice insurance that would cover a VBAC. Even though she STILL didn't come on her own and I eventually had a repeat, to me, it was so worth it to try.

I did finally get a VBA2C this last baby :D
