Quoting Clk:" Well our plans are to educate on STDs, condoms, abortions, plan B pill and so forth. I think it should ... [snip!] ... be taught, not just Plan B. I do think this is a good step in the right direction, now we need to teach safe sex along with it."

yea but the overall picture the govt is displaying here is ... its ok, if you have unprotected sex and are underage , no you wont have to tell anyone you are having sex, no you wont know if you have an STD most likely and yes you will probably spread it, if you ahve an oopsie jsut run to the store. we all know how great unprotected sex feels! ... Condoms .. in a lot of stores have been moved right under the pharmacy window, or are actually locked up so you ahve to ask for them because everyone keeps stealing them ( everyone - majority teenagers ) so how are they going to practice safe sex, if they are too shy to go buy a condom or speak to their doctors and parents about safe sex .

Hmmm... I wonder if "they" thought that way in the 70s when BCPs caught on and STDs exploded.
It is NOT an irrational fear. Just talk to pediatricians and OB'GYNs.
