Uh-lane-uh is usually Elena or Alaina... etc

Alanna to my understanding is usually uh-lah-na or uh-lan-uh.

I could be wrong.

Rene :-)

I did read the name as Al-Ann-Ah though..
When I hear it the way you pronounce it I see Alaina.

But either way what a nice name!! Goes nicely with the boys' names too.

Nope you are right. I read it as ah lah na. And OP I voted Rene. Not really a fan of those naturey names.

That's uh-lon-uh. I'm sure that's how most people will pronounce it. Alaina, Elaina, Elena, Alayna would be pronounced uh-layn-uh.

I wouldn't pronounce alanna uh lane uh. It looks like uh lon uh. I also think Rene goes with the name better than the others.

That's definitely uh-lawn-uh.

Elena, Elaina, Alaina. Or even Helena, Yelena, or Jelena because in most cultures people do not pronounce the first letter. I don't with my daughter.

I don't get the pronunciation from that spelling. Rene looks odd. I prefer it with two Es.

^ The only middle name kinda of like is Rene. Sounds better w/ Ah-lah-nah but if you like the other pronunciation you might consider Elaina, Elena or Alaina so people pronounce it correctly?

We went with this spelling because it is a family name, and I promised my MIL I would use Ann in it. I thought about changing the way we pronounce but I really like it Uh-Lane-uh so we are just going to go with how my aunt used it. We have been waiting to use it for 5 years, we'll see if we actually get to this time.

For the middle name I want Rene but DH wants River...I think he has geeky reason for it, though (firefly and dr who).

Probably pointless anyway, I'm thinking this one is another boy lol

Be prepared for people to mispronounce it all the time though. Obviously family and friends won't & people that get to know her (School, friends, ect)

I hope you get a girl this time! Why do you think it's another boy?

I actually like Raine a bit better now with the way you are pronouncing it. I thought you were pronouncing it like everyone else said, which sounded better with Renee.

I dunno, other than just hunch the only reason to think so is because we conceived 3 days after I ovulated. But obviously mommy intuition sucks for me because I just KNEW David was a girl, I even bought the bedding and returned it lol.

I just see myself with three boys. Obviously I am happy either way...still just in shock that I am pregnant again
