What will miscarriage be like? Haley+2♥ Due June 27; TTC since Jun 2013; 2 kids; Michigan 16510 posts

I was told I should prepare to miscarry. Will it hurt? Will I bleed a lot? Can I still go to work while in the process? Should I be seen by a doc once the process starts to be sure it all cleared out? When can I try again? What is my likelihood of miscarrying again? I'm terrified to ever get pregnant again. This is killing me I feel like my heart is so torn.

How far are you? I don't think early miscarriage is much more painful then period cramps. I had one at almost 17 weeks and it was nearly as bad as full term labor. I would want to stay home just because it is a traumatic experience, even when very early on and I wouldn't want to go at work dealing with the emotions.

First off Im very sorry. How far along are you? I had a very early miscarriage are 5/6 weeks. Its was a lot of bleeding and clots and I had what felt like really strong menstrual cramps and a lot of back pain. It wasnt unbearable just very uncomfortable. I went to work every day just fine. Bring a lot of pads and tylenol to keep you comfortable.

Im so sorry for you. Hiw far along are you? When I had mine it was like bad period cramps until I passed the baby then it was like a hravier period. I bled for a week and my dr had me come back after a week to make sure it all passed. She told me I could try for another when I was emotionally ready because physically I was ok anytime. I got pregnant with dd 4 months later. One miscarriage doesnt really raise your chance to miscarry again. Gl and afain im sorry

My OB told me after I lost my twins that I now have a 25% chance of losing my next pregnancy. He said the chances increase after you have a miscarriage but its only like a 5% increase.

I'm very sorry :( you will get cramping and pass clots, it will last a week or two and should go back to the dr in a month or so for an ultrasound to make sure all the clots have passed (if you still have some in there it could lead to infection). I have been told you should wait 3 periods before trying again.

I had a miscarriage at 5-6wks & it hurt! It felt a lot worse than period cramps & I have horrible periods! I didn't bleed for too long but I did bleed a lot. I had a D&C scheduled but my doctor did an ultrasound the day before & we discovered that everything had passed on it's own. I'm not sure if I'd go to work because of the bleeding. I found out I was having a miscarriage at the hospital, they gave me pain medicine & when I woke up the next morning the cramping was gone, I was just bleeding. We started trying the next month right after I got my period.

I lost my first baby, I had a lot of pain I was around 10 weeks. It still hurts to talk about it. I had a very difficult experience no doctor wanted to tell me they tried to keep my husband out of the room. I was put on bed rest which is unnecessary that early. I found out later no matter what you do if a miscarriage is supposed to happen you can't change it. However if you are further along they can give you something to stop it but that is not called miscarriage it is preterm labour so I gather you are not at that mark yet.

I'm really sorry I will pray for you and your little one I hope you get a miracle. They are not always right about these things. Try not to think about it too much stress isn't good for either of you just take one day at a time.

You can try right away in fact my doctor told me to because I was so upset and my hormone levels were elevated which he said would help with my second pregnancy which I had a beautiful little girl. I miscarried in April and was pregnant again in June.

Best of luck lots of love and wishes for you!

If I were you OP and whenever the process starts, I wouldn't go to work. You could have no bleeding and you could have tons. I know when I went through mine I bled through every pad I put on, I bled through my clothes, I was passing clots the size of golf balls, it was a very traumatic experience and frankly I wouldn't want to be at work during that time. I was suppose to be 9 weeks but baby stopped growing at 6. I'm really really sorry for your loss. I got pregnant 4 months after my m/c. Lots of women go on to have a safe and successful pregnancies. Good Luck love

I am so sorry! I miscarried a couple of weeks ago at 6 weeks. I did have cramps, but they were really not any worse than period like cramps. I had several days of heavy bleeding, the worst being the day I passed everything and I was passing clots the size of my palm. :( The bleeding way so bad that I gave up on pads and actually just lined my underwear with a diaper. Sounds weird, but it worked so much better. I went back to work the day after that and had spotting for two weeks. Honestly, the emotional aspect of it was much worse than the physical.

Two and a half weeks later I've stopped spotting and now and waiting for my HCG levels to return to normal. The nurse said it could be 4-6 weeks for them to go back to zero and then possibly a few more weeks after that to get a period. :( The waiting is awful. However, they said chances are good that the next pregnancy will be successful.

did they do a blood draw to establish that your hcg levels are dropping?
