Special Needs: Over 25% delay? Japan 388 posts

If your child was over 25% delayed how long did it take to lower the delay to "average"?

DS has autism and had a developmental study done. All of it came back with a delay but the worst was his motor skills. His fine motor was 27% delay and his gross motor was 22% delay.

I told the guy at school that tested him that in the mental status of his autism diagnosis it said he has psychomotor retardation. He mentioned physical therapy and said I should show the copy he has gave me to his doctor.

He starts OT tomorrow so it was perfect timing getting the results today.

Did you child have a motor delay? What kind of therapy was used? How long did it take?
